| On G-Force, I worked as lighting and compositing TD. Working with Imageworks' proprietary Katana toolset and renderers, as well as RenderMan, was a great learning experience. It's also the first fur project I worked on. I think RenderMan is fantastic at rendering fur. The shots I worked on were full CG, with rendered elements for the backgrounds. Everything was lit and composited using Katana. On the big 'robot' shots, I was the one who worked on the furry character elements (Speckles), rendered full rez, and which were comped on the monitor screens into the final shot by another artist. Some of my more interesting shots were cut from the movie, sadly, as an alternate ending was created. |
